History

The Group Sbandieratori e Musici “Città di Piansano” is born in 1993 to support of the local Historical Cortege “S. Bernardino”, protagonist of the historical folk demonstration that it is developed in Piansano the third Sunday of May, in occasion of the party of the patron "S. Bernardino from Siena".
The Group, at first was born to support and to liven up the Historical Cortege, as years go by it has proposition an actual autonomy and, thanks to the costing engagement and to the care of the details, reached an high technical level that allowed to collect him approvals and esteem in the numerous Italian and foreign squares where it has shown.


1993 : The Beginning...
	The Group, that had the first performance in 25-05-1993, at first was formed from 2 Clear players, 7 Drums players and 9 Flag-Wavers, that put on the colours of the 4 quarters of Piansano:
	- Fortress (Orange-Black)
	- Tower (Violet-White)
	- Hillock (Red- White)
	- Marinello (Yellow-Blue).

2000 : The Turning-point...
	In 2000 the Group has "changed skin" ... new customs, new flags, new life ! We left the multicolored customs and the symbols of 4 Quarters, to take on the colours of the Commune: the Red, the White, and the Black.

	The Group is actually composed from about 40 elements, of age included between the 16 and the 25 years, subdivided in clear players, drum players and flag-wavers that itself propose to popularize between the young the ancient art of the flag and of to promote initiatives of character educational and social-cultural.


From 1997 it arranges also of an own “School of Flag” that it given life, in 2000, to the Group of the Small Sbandieratori e Musici “Città di Piansano”, composed from about 20 boys of age included between the 10 and the 15 years, that ensure the natural exchange for the course of the folk activity of the Group.

From 2002 it organizes, together to the Commune of Piansano, a competition of Flag Games of character choreographic-spectacular, named "Trophy Città di Piansano", to which participate some between the better historical groups of all Italy.

	In 2002 it was between the founders partners of the "Association Historical Recallings of the Lazio"

	From 2002 to 2005 the Group was been registered to the L.I.S. (Italian League Sbandieratori), and it has participated in the annual "Italian Championship of the Flag L.I.S." winning the title of ITALIAN CHAMPIONS for four consecutive years (2002 - 2003 - 2004 - 2005).

	To completion of the good work done during the years, in 2006 the Group, pushed by the desire to grow and to improve, has decided to enter in the F.I.Sb. (Italian Federation Sbandieratori).
