The Group Sbandieratori e Musici "Città di Piansano" has 27 Flag-Wavers at the moment. These boys, of age included between 10 and 26 years, practice constantly in order to present more and more spectacular choreographies and exercises in the squares in which are called to show itself. |

It represents the identifying element of each group, and has had a considerable development throughout the years: |

The flag today is often made of a carbon fibre bar, and is usually 1.70mt long. The flags have also a weight anchored to their bigger ends in order to improve their counterbalance and to facilitate the throws. The weight tool comes to about 1 Kg. |

The synthetic material cloth is usually printed with the belonging colours of the group and the dimensions can vary between 1,30 and 1,40 mt. for each side. |

Every group sharpens then to second of the actual requirements the technology of the varied components with small trickiness that often remain secret… |

The Flag-Waver today... |

|
The “modern” flag-waver (heir of the medieval alfiere) has modified, throughout the years, the idea of traditional flag-waving and the secular-old movements have been replaced by new and complex geometries. |
|

The competitions preparation activity has been strongly intensified and extended to all the year round getting the group busy in a very intense way. Top-level groups like ours are used to training all the year round 1-2 times per week; even if the training frequency can reach higher levels (3-4 training sessions per week) in the proximity of competitions and even higher levels (7 training sessions per week…) when the Italian Championship is getting close! |

The rivalry between the different Italian towns Groups produced a considerable development of the technique, guaranteeing an always greater show. |

The Competitions |

The main appointment of the competitive season is the "Italian Flag-Wavers Championship", organized every year by the Italian Federation Sbandieratori (F.I.Sb.). The Parade lasts three days (usually during the second weekend of September); the best Italian groups are meeting to prove who is the best one. Every group will perform in the following categories: Individual, Couple, Musicians, Small and Large Team. |

During the last years our Flag-Wavers became one of the most tight-knit and winning groups in Italy... and considering that every comment can appear dictated by parochialism spirit, we think it is better to make the numbers speak... so let’s see the results we have achieved so far in our Awards. |

Our athletes are special: we stood out in every single competition we have ever attended... collecting a series of victories and of podiums really exceptional ! During the last 4 Italian Championships L.I.S. (2002 - 2003 - 2004 - 2005), that are also the sole to which the group participated, we collected 11 Italian titles of speciality : 2 in the Individual (2002 - 2005), 2 in the Couple (2004 - 2005), 3 in the Small Team (2003 - 2004 - 2005), 3 in the Large Team (2002 - 2004 - 2005) and 1 with Musicians (2003). |
